A-/ George cut himself when he was shaving this morn.
We use myself/ yourself/ himself etc. (reflexive pronouns) when the subject field and object are the same:
Discipline �> | George | cut | himself |. <� object
Atypical: | my self | your self (one person) | him self / her cocky / it self |
Plural: | our selves | your selves (more than than i person) | them selves |
� I don't desire you to pay for me. I'll pay for myself, ( non I�ll pay for me')
� Julia had a great holiday. She enjoyed herself very much.
� Exercise you lot sometimes talk to yourself ? (said to 1 person)
� If y'all want more to consume, help yourselves , (said to more than 1 person)
Compare:
� It's not our fault. You lot can't blame us .
� It's our own fault. We blame ourselves.
Note that we do non utilise myself/ yourself etc. after 'bring/ take something with�.
� Information technology might rain. I'll take an umbrella with me . ( not 'with myself)
B-/ Nosotros practise non use myself etc. afterward concentrate/ feel/ relax/ encounter :
� You must try and concentrate , ( non 'concentrate yourself)
� �Do you feel nervous?' 'Yes, I can't relax.
� What time shall we meet ? ( non 'meet ourselves', non 'run into us')
Nosotros unremarkably apply wash/shave/apparel without myself etc.:
� He got upwardly, washed , shaved and dressed , ( not 'washed himself etc.)
But nosotros say �I stale myself.
Put in myself/ yourself/ ourselves etc. or me/ you/ usa
